We have now the pleasure of delivering the 100 Reams of Paper asordered by you being double thin of your sample or 19 2 Suches by 29 Inches zweighingt to the ream or equal to Us to the ream had it been the sizest 7th sample handed us by you. We understand from the comm -nications which have passed between us, that the Papery wanted for an object similar to that of the Penny Postage in the Country, and as we are intrusted by Government with the p paration of all the Adhesive Samps weperfectly understand requirements necessary in a Vaper for such an object. The man ones we take to be. 10th (Shength sufficient to bear the coetting pricking, an object. necessary to such an. 96 2nd A quality capable of taking a good impreſsion swhatever work is to be printed upon it and 3rd Asthin a substance as can be, consistent with the above name qualities and which shall not shew the gun through the Paper or deface the Printing. to sheet. The sample you gave us weight 6 tbs or 12th the double d while that now Supplied by us weighs 14 Wb this difference we found necessary, not only on Account of the very great size of the cheet which is expernely difficult to make of such avery thin texture but because after many repeated experiments we found that a thumer paper would shew the gum through and thus deface the impression We have alle found the greatest difficulty in highly rolling so large thin alper & as we have doubts whether for the purpose required this rolling is necepary we have sent 50 Reams highly rolled & 50, not very highly rolls as the high rolling adds 3/- per ream to the price. After much reflection we have though is best to send one half one way zone half thaother, rijuhen tried for the purpose intended the high rolling is useful it can in any future Anders beadhered to Bif not abandoned. Al your suggestion we have prepse -ed and now hand you, - impressions printed & quumed with the same materials & in the same way in which the Adhesive Stamps for For me are done.
