Enclosure May 19 96 Dear Sir, Referring to our Mr Heath's call yesterday, we have looked into the question of your Bill forms which we find are not printed on sensitised paper, as are the Letters of Credit. We have watermarked paper in Stock sufficient for about 1800 Bill forms which we will have sensitised, and would also recommend as an additional security against alteration, of the writing ink, overprinting the bills etc. with a tint of fugitive ink, similar to pattern herewith, which will we think not materially alter the general appearance of the documents. This we can also do as a temporary expedient to those Bill forms you have on hand unused, so that while new forms are being prepared, you may be kept supplied with forms chemically protected against alteration. We may mention, as a rather curious fact, that comparatively few Banks, as far as we know, have their draft or bill forms protected against alterations, although such protection is usual for Letters of Credit.
